Morocco, UNICEF To Strengthen Cooperation In Children’s Rights

Rabat – Cooperation in the field of children’s rights protection was the focus of a meeting on Thursday between Upper House Speaker Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah and UNICEF representative in Morocco Aloys Kamuragiye.

The two sides stressed the need for strenghtening a three-party partnership that includes the Upper House, the National Observatory for Children’s Rights (ONDE) and the UNICEF with a view to supporting scial policies relating to children and implementing the laws pertaining to children, the Upper House said in a statement.

The talks also centered on the importance of working to achieve the goals set in the national plan of action for children.

The role of the ONDE was also highlighted during the meeting. In this respect, light was shed on the measures undertaken by this body to raise awareness about children’s rights and the means to meet their needs.
