Morocco to sue Spanish paper over al-Qaeda video
Morocco plans to sue Spanish newspaper El Pais for publishing an al-Qaeda video on its website, MAP reported on Tuesday (September 17th).
The al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) clip, which proposes jihad in the kingdom and shows an image of King Mohammed VI engulfed in flames, is a “a clear call and a direct incitement to commit acts of terrorism”, Moroccan officials said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the editor of Moroccan news website Lakome was arrested on terrorism charges for posting the same video.
The al-Qaeda Morocco video also includes footage of jihadists training in the forests and mountains of Algeria under the personal supervision of Abdelmalek Droukdel (aka Abou Moussaab Abdelouadoud).
