Morocco strongly condemns terrorist attacks on Saudi security patrols
RABAT, July 6 (KUNA) — Morocco strongly condemned on Sunday the two terrorist attacks on a Saudi security post near the border with Yemen and a governmental building in Sharurah Province, south of the Kingdom, which left five policemen dead on Friday.
“Morocco condemns strongly this cowardly terrorist act whose perpetrators seek to destabilize this brotherly Arab country (Saudi Arabia) and touch the safety of its citizens,” Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation said in a statement on Sunday.
It added that the country renews its solidarity with Saudi Arabia in its efforts to combat terrorism and maintain its stability and security.
The statement said that Morocco offered its sincere condolence to the family of victims.
The Saudi Interior Ministry’s spokesman, Mansour Al-Tukri, said on Saturday that two militants blew themselves up early Saturday after police surrounded them inside a government building in the southern province on Sharurah. Five security officers were killed.
The authorities said a sixth militant was arrested (end) adt.hm
