Rabat – Morocco’s Justice Ministry says the documents in the case of a convicted Spanish paedophile, whose release sparked rare public criticism of the king, were sent to Spain so that he could possibly be extradited back to Morocco.
Daniel Galvan was mistakenly pardoned by Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and he returned to Spain where he was re-arrested on 5 August and now faces charges of child molestation there.
Galvan was convicted of raping and photographing 11 children in Morocco and sentenced to 30 years prison.
The documents from the Kenitra court of appeals were sent to Spain so that Galvan could either be extradited, re-tried in Spain or serve out the rest of his sentence there, said the statement on the Ministry’s website late Tuesday.
