Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit and his Saudi counterpart Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayif bin Abdulaziz vowed Thursday to boost bilateral security cooperation.
During their talks in Rabat, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest such as security developments and challenges in the Arab region, said a statement released by the Moroccan Interior Ministry.
Both parties also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation mechanisms through signing an agreement in the field of security cooperation on the fight against transnational organized crime, terrorism, illegal migration and drug trafficking, as well as the exchange of data and expertise, the statement said.
In the area of training and capacity building, both sides agreed to develop and implement expert exchange programs, hold joint training sessions, and exchange experience.
They also underlined the importance of implementing the civil protection cooperation agreement signed in Riyadh in 2013.
