With the start of the Islamic holy month of fasting Ramadan, Morocco is restoring daylight saving time. On Sunday, May 5, at 3 am clocks will be moved one hour behind. The official announcement was made by the ministry for administrative reform and public function. The measure was aimed at anticipating the fast-breaking ‘Ftour’ enabling people to start eating and drinking.

The daylight saving time abolished with an urgent decree on October 26 last year will only be restored until June 9. Public offices will also change opening hours, from 9 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday.
