Morocco registers 339 new COVID-19 cases, 478,474 in total

The Moroccan health ministry on Sunday announced 339 new COVID-19 infections, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the North African country to 478,474.

The ministry also reported 17 new COVID-19-related deaths, taking the total coronavirus fatalities in Morocco to 8,477.

Meanwhile, 348 more people recovered from the virus, bringing the overall recoveries in Morocco to 458,852.

The COVID-19 fatality rate in Morocco stood at 1.8 percent while the recovery rate was 96 percent.

Morocco kicked off the nationwide vaccination campaign on Jan. 28 after the arrival of the first shipment of Chinese Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines. Enditem
