Nezha Hayat is one of Morocco’s leading company directors and an avowed campaigner for the place of women in business.
She was the country’s first woman to become a member of a corporate board for a bank when she joined Société Générale Marocaine de Banques in 1996.
She is a founder and deputy chair of the Association des Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises du Maroc.
She lobbies for a place for women in the business world, but says she would prefer if the government did not have to implement legislative minimum representation on corporate boards.
She also helped to modernise the management of the Casablanca Stock Exchange as a bourse administrator.
