Casablanca — New social projects aimed to further respond to the population’s expectations have been launched Friday in Casablanca by HM king Mohammed VI.

They include a socio-cultural complex to help the youth access the job market, and a “mother’s house”, an accommodation building for women whose children are admitted to the Ibn Rochd university hospital.

The projects will be constructed by the Mohammed V Foundation for solidarity for MAD 14.5ml (USD 1.6ml).

The socio-cultural complex is meant to contribute to the blossoming of Casablanca youth by providing cultural and social activities that encourage young people to take responsibilities. It will also provide trainings to help the youth access the job market.

About 3,000 people will benefit from the centre, which will offer workshops in IT, office automation and computer graphics, in communication and languages, in drawing and fine arts, as well as in visual communication and recording techniques.

The mother’s house (Dar Al Oum), will be built inside Ibn Rochd hospital. It is designed to provide lodging to disadvantaged women whose children are hospitalised for serious conditions at the university hospital.

These projects reinforce the actions taken by the Mohammed V Foundation in the Greater Casablanca, mainly in developing youth’s potentials and improving the living conditions of the locals.
