Rabat – Morocco has met the challenges of generalising access to potable water and ensuring water supply to cities, Director General of the national potable water utility, ONEP, Ali Fassi Fihri said.

In an interview with french speaking weekly l’Observateur du Maorc, Fassi Fihri pointed out to the dams policy adopted by Morocco, adding that ONEP also attained its objectives in terms of waste water treatment.

Morocco’s water management experience can stand as an example for other African countries, he highlighted, noting that Moroccan enterprises operating in the field of water are conquering new markets in west Africa.

Fassi Fihri shed light on the recently inaugurated water station in Marrakech, which, he said, shows how groundwater can be preserved and sewage water treated to be used in irrigation.
