Authorities in Morocco today keep all airports in the nation on maximum alert, following a government order Monday in prevention of possible terrorist attacks, but without referring to any threat concretely.
The Executive also ordered the strengthening of the surveillance and control in the vicinity of such facilities, security officials reported to the press.
The military authorities established groups of emergency in all air terminals, while specialist teams patrol their outdoor areas, it was reported.
The prohibition of entry to any passenger within airports and providing workers smart cards, include preventive measures to an alleged terrorist threat, which was still not explained by the government.
The Executive did not report any action of that kind in recent days, but political and press media commented those perpetrated recently in Belgium and France, attributed to Islamist groups who operate in the Maghreb territories adjacent to Morocco.
