Morocco and Japan agreed on Wednesday to increase efforts in the environmental field by taking tangible actions as part of Morocco-Japan-Africa tripartite cooperation.

This agreement was reached during a meeting between Moroccan Foreign Secretary of State Mounia Boucetta and Japanese State Minister of the Environment Tadahiko Ito, at the first annual meeting of the African Clean Cities Platform, which takes place from June 26 to 28 in Morocco’s capital Rabat.

The two parties lauded the set-up of the platform that will contribute to addressing the African challenges over promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the waste management.
