(ANSAmed) – RABAT – The Moroccan call centre company Intelcia has completed an important acquisition with its purchase, for a total investment of 15 million euros, of the share capital of France’s Phone Marketing, which has a turnover of 33 million euros. After more than ten months of preparations, due to the presence of the French company on the stock exchange, Intelcia acquired 91.5 percent of the capital and launched a bid to acquire an extra 5 percent, which would give it over 95 of the share capital.
The two companies employ at combined total of 2,500 and have an annual turnover of 54 million euros. According to an article in La Vie Eco, the objective for 2012, is to reach 63 million.
The acquisition is part of a development strategy that would allow the new group to round off its product range with both onshore and offshore activities of a large scale. It would also limit its economic dependence on large customers: “this purchase is of benefit for both structures. The fact that we have regrouped today allows us to construct a strong groups with the means to develop and guarantee employment, both in France and in Morocco”, said the General Director of Intelcia Group, Karim Bernoussi.
Such a ‘reverse outsourcing’ has already been seen around a year ago when the group Outsourcia bought French operator Ascom.(ANSAmed).
