Rabat – Morocco and India stressed, Friday in Rabat, their readiness to establish new partnerships that will target “priority areas” for both countries, especially in areas of new technology, commerce and finance.
This desire was voiced during a meeting between Delegate Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Youssef Amrani, and India’s Minister of State for External Affairs Shri E. Ahamed,
During the meeting, the two officials welcomed the positive development of trade and the establishment of joint ventures relating to the development of phosphates.
To this effect, they called for the revitalization of the Moroccan-Indian Business Council as a vector of concrete business opportunities between the two countries.
Emphasis was also placed on the need for stronger coordination at international forums and more particularly within the U.N Security Council where the two countries currently sit as non-permanent members.
Trade between Morocco and India reached 1.111 billion in 2010, making India the third largest trading partner of the Kingdom in terms of exports after France and Spain.
