The first Libyan investment economic forum started on Monday in Morocco’s capital Rabat.

The event was organized by the Libyan General Union of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture with the sponsorship of the Presidential Council of Libya.

The forum confirms the solidity of relations and partnership between the Maghreb countries, said Al-Mahdi Abdelaati, executive director of the forum, at the opening ceremony.

The choice of Morocco to host this two-day economic event is attributed to its leading role in supporting the inter-Libyan dialogue which led to the signature of the Libyan political agreement in December 2015, he added.

According to the organizers, the forum aims to explore investment opportunities in Libya and to encourage investors to enter the Libyan market.
