Rabat – Morocco hopes that the League of Arab States will play an “important, positive” role for stability in Syria, Moroccan Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri said on Monday in Rabat.
“Syria is an Arab country and the Syrian people is a brotherly people. Hence the need for Arab states to endeavour for a final solution likely to secure stability in Syria and a peaceful life for the Syrian people,” Fassi Fihri said during a news conference with Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman.
The minister stressed the importance Morocco attaches to any initiatives taken by the Arab League to solve this issue, noting that the Kingdom is making contacts with Arab countries to send a delegation of the league to Syria.
