(Rabat) Morocco is fully engaged in efforts led by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to promote the participation of the muslim community in international efforts against discrimination and intolerance.
The remark was made by Secretary of State the Foreign Minister Latifa Akharbach during the second focal point meeting of the Alliance of civilizations of the OIC member
states, held on October 17-18 in Rabat.
She said that Morocco made considerable progress in the democratic process, modernization and development and managed to harmonize universal values with its national identity and specificities.
Thanks to the institution of Imarat Al Mouminine (Commandership of the Faithful), she said, Islam in Morocco is a religion of tolerance and coexistence.
The new constitution recognizes all the constituents of the Moroccan identity and enshrines dialogue and exchange with other cultures and civilisaitons, added Akharbach.
She stressed the need for considering Palestine as a heaven of peace and meeting of religions.
Under the leadership of HM king Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al Quds committee, Morocco spared no effort to bring assistance to Al Quds population and support their resistance with a view to safeguarding the civilisaitonal and spiritual character of the sacred city.
