RABAT, Dec 13 (KUNA) — Morocco and France signed 13 cooperation agreements, including two loan agreements for a total amount of 107 million Euros, part of the French-Moroccan high level meeting, held Thursday in Rabat.
The two loan agreements were signed with the French Agency for Development (AFD) to support development projects in Morocco.
The first loan agreement worth 50 million euros, granted to the national port agency, is meant to fund the agency’s investment program benefitting regional ports.
The second loan agreement for 57 million euros, given to the electricity and drinking water facility (ONEE) to finance the 3rd program to reinforce the electricity network (high and medium voltage), will enable the linking of new solar and wind plants.
The two parties also signed a cooperation agreement on the peaceful use of nuclear energy, an agreement on reciprocal visa exemption for holders of service passports, and a joint statement between the French foreign and education ministries and the Moroccan national education ministry on promoting the teaching of the French language in schools.
An administrative arrangement between the Moroccan and French justice ministries, a declaration of intent between the two countries’ interior ministries, and a technical arrangement on training crews of helicopters EC 145 and EC 135 and a joint statement on industrial co-localization were also inked.
The 11th high-level meeting was also marked by the signing of a road map setting the terms and schedule of carrying out a new Moroccan-French partnership on higher education and scientific research. (end) adt.mb KUNA 140027 Dec 12NNNN
