Morocco Fosters Cooperation With UN in Health Sector

Rabat — Morocco’s health ministry signed two cooperation agreements with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)
Signed by Health Minister El Hossein El Ouardi and representatives of the two UN agencies, the agreements provide for technical assistance as well as training in managelment through, sharing expertise and contributing to sustainable human development.

The agreements, to be implemented during the 2012-2013 period, will help improve health services and the nutrition of mothers and children.
They also aim to reduce inequalities, consolidate governance, protect the environment and promote risk management.

Under the agreement, efforts will be undertaken to fight non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and improve health care conditions at Moroccan hospitals.
