Morocco, EBRD examine cooperation prospects

Tangier – The means to promote cooperation between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Morocco were at the heart of talks, on Thursday in Tangier, between Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri and EBRD Vice-President Jan Fischer.

Speaking to the press following the meeting that was held on the sidelines of the 4th Medays forum, Fischer said that the talks centered on on the projects that the EBRD intends to carry out in the upcoming months in Morocco as well as in Tunisia, Jordan and Egypt.

Issues relating to the economic crisis in Europe and the reforms undertaken by Morocco at the economic level were also raised, said Fischer.

Fischer added that the talks with Morocco’s Foreign Minister also tackled the support that the EBRD can bring notably in the areas of small and medium sized enterprises, the agricultural sector, the banking system as well as the means to improve renewable energy efficiency.
