Rabat – Pursuant to the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco continues dispatching new humanitarian aid to the Republic of Mali in order to alleviate the suffering of internally displaced persons within the country’s territory, Moroccan Foreign Ministry announced in a press release.

“After the humanitarian aid granted earlier to Mauritania and Niger,” this aid includes 50 tons of foodstuffs and pharmaceuticals, said the same source.

The Ministry said that “While reiterating its firm stand on preserving Mali’s territorial integrity, the Kingdom of Morocco expresses its deep concern at the dire situation of Malian Refugees and internally displaced persons.”
In this regard, “Morocco appreciates the initiatives of the economic community of West Africa States (ECOWAS), stresses its support to their endeavors for the cessation of the fighting that claims victims among innocence civilians and for a political solution to the Malian crisis,” said the press release.

The Kingdom, meanwhile, calls upon all brotherly and friendly states “to provide sufficient support so as to ensure the return of all refugees to their homes, and children to their schools in proper human condition; which would contribute to establishing security and stability in this brotherly country and in the Sahel region as a whole,” added the source.
