Morocco congratulates Libya for holding first free legislative elections

RABAT, July 9 (KUNA) — The Moroccan government congratulated the Libyan people for organizing the first free legislative elections following the tumble of Gaddafi regime.

A statement issued on Monday by the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation stressed on the country’s keenness in supporting the Libyan efforts “to establish a modern country that respects the rule of law and freedoms”.

Morocco monitored with great interest the first free legislative elections to be held in Libya, which will lead to the establishmemt of a democratic country with the contribution of all segments of the society, it added.
The elections will pave the way for the formation of a new government which will be rewarding not only to its people, but also to all the The Arab Maghreb countries, and European countries as well, the statement said. (end) adt.lb KUNA 091129 Jul 12NNNN
