Morocco on Thursday condemned the demolition by the Israeli authorities of Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem.

“Morocco expresses its firm condemnation of the demolition by the Israeli authorities of houses belonging to Palestinian citizens in Oued al-Homs south of the occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem), located in a classified area A according to the Oslo agreements,” said Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in a press briefing in Rabat.

Bourita added that “this unacceptable approach is contrary to the provisions of international law and to the agreements signed by the Palestinian Authority and Israel.”

“Morocco flatly rejects all unilateral measures likely to change the historical and legal status in Al-Quds, to stir feelings of despair and disappointment among the Palestinian people and to undermine the Middle East peace process,” he added.

Morocco calls on the international community to vigorously face this Israeli move which is an addition to a series of unilateral measures that undermine the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, he said. Enditem
