Kuwait City – Morocco and Jordan remain the closest states to the Gulf countries, the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said.
In an interview with the Japanese daily “Asahi” published on Tuesday and carried by the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA), the Emir of Kuwait stressed that “the GCC countries have special cooperation with Jordan and Morocco and we have agreed together on achieving a stretegic partnership.”
According to Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, this strategic partnership whose foundations have been laid and its concepts have been agreed to, aims to ensure that the pace of development in both countries is increased so that they can promote security and stability internally and in the region.
At the end of their annual summit in Riyadh last December, leaders of the GCC countries had announced the setting up of a $ five billion development fund to support development projects in Morocco and Jordan.
