Morocco, Algeria Sign MoU In Field Of Communication

Rabat – Morocco and Algeria, signed on Tuesday in Algiers, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of communication in implementation of orientations of HM King Mohammed VI and President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The MoU was signed by Communication Minister and Spokesman for the Government Mustapha El Khalfi and his Algerian counterpart Nacer Mehal during a ceremony attended by Directors General of the news agencies of the two countries, Khalil Hachimi Idrissi and Hamid Kacha respectively.

Under this agreement, the two sides will exchange visits and expertise in the field of communication, facilitate the tasks of journalists operating in their territories and organise training sessions benefiting students of print and broadcast journalism institutions.

The MoU also aims to promote the circulation of Moroccan newspapers and magazines in Algeria and vice versa.

The two sides also agreed to set up a Moroccan-Algerian Journalists Forum that will hold two meetings annually in alternation between the two countries.

MAP, APS Sign Protocol Of Cooperation

Algiers –
Moroccan and Algerian News Agencies, Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) and Algeria Press Service (APS), signed Tuesday in Algiers a protocol of cooperation in the field of information exchange, multimedia and technologies.

The agreement was signed by the Directors of MAP, Khalil Hachimi Idrissi and his counterpart Hamid Kacha during a ceremony attended by Minister of Communication Government Spokesman, Mustapha El Khalfi, his Algerian peer Nacer Mehal, and the Ambassador of Morocco to Algeria, Abdellah Belkziz.

The agreement provides for the reception and use of the information published by the two agencies throught satelite, FTP system, the internet or any other technological means.

In terms of multimedia, the two news agencies will cooperate in the exchange of photos, audio tapes, videos, computer graphics and internet content.

The agreement also provides for broadcasting and marketing the information exchanged by the two agencies to subscribers in Morocco and Algeria while ensuring that the source is mentioned and the content is not distorted.

The two agencies also agreed to give special importance to covering each other’s National Days.

Concerning technological cooperation, the two parties agreed to strengthen cooperation particularly in the exchange of experiences and expertise, as well as data relating to the technical areas.

Under the same agreement, the two agencies will facilitate the tasks of each other correspondents and Special Envoys.

The two agencies also agreed to exchange visits, expertise and training in journalism, technical, data and documentation in addition to coordinating and cooperating at the level of international professional organizations.
