Morocco has sent three aircraft carrying 1.8 tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, official MAP news agency reported Tuesday.

The humanitarian aid will be sent into Gaza by land through the Rafah border with Egypt, the report said.

The aid, which includes medicines and medical supplies, is sent in response to the needs of a field hospital set up by Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces in Gaza.

Since June, the hospital has provided medical care to the Palestinian victims of clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian demonstrators.

The hospital’s medical and paramedical staff include 13 doctors and 21 nurses with different specialities.

The initiative proves the solidarity of Morocco, which provides concrete and effective support to the Palestinian people and their just cause, the report said.
