Maroc Telecom, Morocco’s main telecoms operator, unveiled on Monday a 10-billion-dirham (1.04 billion U.S. dollars) investment program to improve the country’s communications infrastructure.

It is the sixth investment agreement of its kind that Maroc Telecom has signed with the Moroccan government, a company statement said.

Covering the years of 2019-2021, the program consists of the development of communications infrastructure throughout the country, as well as providing high-speed fixed and mobile broadband, it added.

Maroc Telecom, controlled by the United Arab Emirates’ Etisalat Group and the Moroccan government, has subsidiaries in more than 10 African countries.
