Moroccan Inflation Eases To 0.9 pct y/y In November

Morocco’s consumer price inflation eased to an annual 0.9 percent in November from 1.4 percent in October as food prices dropped, the country’s High Planning Authority said on Tuesday.

Food inflation eased to 2.1 percent from 3.6 percent in the 12 months to November. Non-food price inflation dropped to 0.2 percent from 0.4 percent in the previous month. Transport costs fell 4.5 percent, while hotels and restaurants were 2.4 percent more expensive, the agency said.

On a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index rose 0.5 percent in November, compared to 0.4 percent in October. Food price inflation rose to 1.3 percent on the month while non-food inflation were steady at 0.1 percent.
