New York (UN) – Moroccan foreign minister Saad Eddine El Otmani will take part on Thursday in a UN Security Council ministerial meeting on the humanitarian situation in Syria.
The meeting will be presided over by French foreign minister Laurent Fabius, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the council for August. It will bring together a number of foreign ministers of permanent and non-permanant members of the council.
The high commissioner for refugees, Antonio Gutierrez, and the new UN-Arab League mediator for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, will also participate in the meeting.
