Qatar and Morocco’s “historic” bilateral relations are strong in all levels – political, economic, or cultural – Morocco’s Foreign Minister Saad Eddine el-Othmani has said.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency the foreign minister of Morocco said talks between the visiting Moroccan delegation and Qatari officials will focus on efforts made by Gulf Co-operation Council countries, headed by Qatar, to support Morocco economically, he said.
The GCC countries have decided to provide developmental aid amounting to $5bn over five years, he said adding that discussions will focus on projects funded by Qatar and Qatar’s investments in Morocco and bolstering bilateral ties.
El-Othmani said that the private sector should play an important role in bolstering economic relations.
On the political level, Qatar and Morocco hold similar views on several regional and international issues, he said.
