Washington – Two Moroccan films will take part in the Los Angeles Amazigh Film Festival, scheduled on April 21-22.
The participating Moroccan films, les oubliés and Amazigh Architecture, were both directed by alumni of the multipurpose faculty of Ouarzazate. The first was co-directed by Rachid Ait Abdellah Oualiet and Zakaria Bati and the second by Abdellatif Attach.
Les Oubliés was projected in several festivals in France and won in 2011 the Bouanani prize in the Errachidia university festival, a statement of the multipurpose faculty of Ouarzazate said.
Les oubliés depicts the difficult living conditions endured by the inhabitants of Tassamerte village (60km away from Ouarzazate, while the second showcases the architectural genius of Amazigh castles in south-western Morocco and draws attention to the need to restore these monuments.
The Festival is held by Tazzla Institute for cultural diversity and is sponsored by the the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angeles.
The multipurpose faculty of Ouarzazate of the Ibn Zohr University of Agadir is the first to offer professional Bachelor degrees in cinema and audiovisual jobs.
Two Moroccan Movies At Francophone Film Festival In Greece
Rabat –
Two Moroccan feature movies will be screened at the 13th Athens francophone film festival, held on March 21-2 in Athens and on March 29-April 4 in Thessalonique.
Part of celebrations of the Francophone week, the festival will feature the projection of two Moroccan films, namely “Andalousie, mon Amour” (Andalusia my lover) by Mohamed Nadif and “la Mosquée” by Daoud Oulad Sayed.
Morocco’s participation in the cultural event aims at introducing Greek cinema lovers to the diversity of Moroccan culture and its film industry.
