Casablanca -The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) received, recently in Douala, Cameroun, the Prize of the best corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative in Africa, in recognition of its initiative to promote Moroccan enterprises’ social performance.
The distinction was awarded to the CGEM during the 1st international forum of pioneers in corporate social responsibility in Africa, co-held by Cameroun’s main enterprises confederation, GICAM and Africa RSE Institute, a statement of the CGEM said.
During the Forum, participants looked in the results of a study showing that 84% of enterprises argue that the lack of public incentive policies impedes the implementation of corporate social responsibility initiatives in Africa.
The Forum’s second edition will be hosted by Casablanca in 2012.
