Moroccan Cultural Association Honors Governor of Makkah as Person of the Year

JEDDAH: Fes-Saiss Association granted Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, adviser to King Salman and governor of Makkah, the Person of the Year 2018 award at its “Tent of Thought and Creativity” event in Fes, Morocco, on Saturday.

The inauguration of the 6th edition of the event, entitled “Questions of poetry and poets,” took place under the patronage of Moroccan King, Mohammed VI.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prince Sultan bin Khalid Al-Faisal; the Saudi Ambassador to Morocco Abdel Aziz Mohieddin Khoja, and a number of governmental, intellectual and literary figures from Morocco and other Arab countries.

In his speech on behalf of Prince Khaled, Prince Sultan praised the dedication of this year’s session to poetry, noting that the Kingdom had revived the Souq Okaz in its modern edition.

Prince Sultan also thanked the Kingdom of Morocco and Fes-Saiss Association for the award and wished them success in revitalizing Arab culture.

Prince Sultan received the honor shield and the symbolic key of Fez on behalf of Prince Khaled.

Several speeches were delivered, all of which praised the literary and intellectual endeavors of Prince Khaled, a distinguished literary figure.
