Washington – US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Maghreban Affairs Raymond Maxwell highlighted on Tuesday the Moroccan-American relations as “strong” and “longstanding”.
In an interview with MAP, Maxwell voiced satisfaction regarding the time-honoured relations between the two countries which he said are poised to continue.
Maxwell who recently paid a working visit to Morocco shed light on the steady efforts led by US citizens and Moroccans alike to further promote bilateral ties.
The US official also pointed to facets of cooperation between the two countries pointing to a range of programmes developed by the USAID in Morocco.
During his visit last January to Morocco, Maxwell met notably with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Minister of Economy and Finance, Minister of Communication and Spokesman for the Government as well as civil society activists.
Maxwell’s visit is part of strategic partnership and regular consultations between officials of the two countries to exchange views on issues of common concern.
