Moonlight over Missouri can certainly be romantic, but moonlight over Morocco? Doubly so.
That’s the theme of the annual Nevada Regional Medical Center Foundation’s Oct. 20 gala, in the Elks Lodge Bingo Hall, where participants may choose between traditional cocktail attire and the flowing dresses of exotic North Africa on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Foundation Assistant Sarah Olson said Tuesday that her organization will go all-out to decorate the hall to the Arabian nines because the gala is a major fundraiser, designed this year to raise $17,000 toward the purchase of a 4-D digital cardiac ultrasound.
Tickets, $40 per person and $75 per couple, may be purchased by calling the foundation at (417) 448-3609 or visiting its Web site at nrmchealth.com. “We considered several ideas and put together a fun theme,” said Olson, noting that last year’s Hawaiian-oriented event, attended by 204 people, was the “Aloha! Gala.”
The social hour will begin at 6 p.m., Oct. 20, and dinner will be at 7 p.m., with beef medallions and chicken breast, Moroccan potatoes and asparagus. A vegetarian dinner also will be available.
“You can dress the part especially for the theme,” Olson said. “We’re finalizing the entertainment and mosaic decorations.”
