Rabat, Jan 15 (Prensa Latina) The Moroccan security forces are now on high alert amid fears that the actions of Islamic groups in Northern Mali, now attacked by French soldiers, extends to their territory.
The possibility of Muslim organizations backlash within Moroccan territory provoked concern in the authorities and the military, extensively reflected by local media.
The government tightened the security measures in all cities to face any kind of reprisals that can take place after the war began against radical organizations, informed the Arabic daily Al-Ahdath Al-Maghribia.
An official statement said that King Mohammed VI talked by phone with French President, Francois Hollande, on the situation in Mali and the region.
France started an intervention last Friday with air bombardment, which reported on Tuesday to the Security Council of the UN, and has the support of the Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
