Tangier – The 2011 Grand Prix of the annual international forum, Medays, was awarded to the Libyan people in recognition of the courage they displayed in overthrowing the repressive regime of Gadhafi and of their aspirations to a democratic state, announced the Forum’s organizers on Wednesday in Tangier.
The announcement was made during a a press conference on the eve of the fourth Medays forum, which will run from November 16 to 19 under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.
The Medays education, culture and research prize went to astrophysicist of Malian origins, who served as former director of NASA’s Mars Exploration Program.
As for the Medays business prize it was awarded to Moroccan Attijariwafa bank for its development strategy in the African continent.
The Forum’s environment and sustainable development prize was taken by South Korea which managed to successfully implement its renewable energies strategy.
