MOROCCO, Casablanca: Casablanca, Morocco’s ‘white city’, hosts hundreds of architectural marvels. From art deco hotels and neo-classical ornaments to neo-Moorish detailing, the city bears witness to its status as a veritable architectural laboratory in the early part of the twentieth century. But today many of its historic buildings are under threat, from lack of maintenance or demolition.
