Mariah Carey has a Moroccan-themed room in her apartment, and she named her son Moroccan because that’s the room where hubby Nick Cannon proposed to her. Now, Mariah will actually travel to the country of Morocco, for a performance at a music festival there in May.

According to a posting on the festival’s website, Mariah will perform at the Mawazine or “Rhythms of the World” festival in the Moroccan city of Rabat on May 26, closing out the multi-artist event, which starts on May 18. According to the festival’s website, Mariah went into the studio this past September to start recording a new album, and she plans to debut one or two new songs during her concert, as well as her hits.

So far, this is Mariah’s first confirmed concert since she gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe last year. The Mawazine festival is in its 11th year, and over the years has featured such superstars as Shakira, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Elton John.
