Main Event PPV (Australia, $49.95), 5:30 a.m. EDT, Danny Green vs Danny Santiago. This is pretty typical “home fighter faces American ‘star'” fare. Green (31-5, 27 KO) is trying to move back to light heavyweight with this one, facing American club fighter Santiago (31-5-1, 19 KO), an old, short, non-threat who is being solid entirely on being American. I’m pretty sure I think far less of the idea of “American fighters” as something inherently special or notable than most people around the world do. The last three decent fighters Santiago faced have been, dating back to 2007, Zsolt Erdei, Antonio Tarver, and Beibut Shumenov. They stopped him in eight, four, and nine, in that order. He’s been stopped in all of his losses.

ESPN2 / ESPN3.com, 10 p.m. EDT, Hank Lundy vs Raymundo Beltran, Farah Ennis vs Richard Pierson. Lundy (22-1-1, 11 KO) and Beltran (25-6, 17 KO) should be able to give us a really good FNF main event — both are action fighters, and Beltran has given stiff tests to Sharif Bogere and Luis Ramos Jr in recent outings. Ennis (19-1, 12 KO) is a Philly super middleweight prospect, not taking a major step against Pierson (11-2, 8 KO). Bad Left Hook will have live round-by-round coverage.
CadenaTres (Mexico), 10 p.m. EDT, Jorge Lara vs Cesar Juarez. 21-year-old Lara (17-0-1, 12 KO) and 20-year-old Juarez (12-1, 11 KO) are a pair of super bantamweight prospects fighting for a minor WBC trinket.

Showtime Extreme / BoxNation (UK), 8 p.m. EDT, George Groves vs Francisco Sierra, Hugo Centeno vs Ayi Bruce. British and Commonwealth super middleweight champ Groves (14-0, 11 KO) returns after being out of the ring since November, and he’ll face Mexican scrapper Sierra (25-5-1, 22 KO) in what should be an entertaining bout. It’s also a nice move by Frank Warren — no one’s going to run notable pro boxing until the Olympics are over in the UK, and Groves desperately needed to get back in the ring. Since he’s televising Golden Boy cards on BoxNation anyway, why not send Groves over? 21-year-old Centeno (14-0, 8 KO) will take a decent step up against Bruce (22-7, 14 KO), who tends to get stopped by good fighters. Showtime / BoxNation (UK), 10 p.m. EDT,Robert Guerrero vs Selcuk Aydin, Shawn Porter vs Alfonso Gomez. I like this fight more than some do, I can say that much, and I’ll get more into why with a preview on Thursday. Guerrero (29-1-1, 18 KO) hasn’t fought in over a year, and he’s making a two-division jump, and Aydin (23-0, 17 KO) can bang. Guerrero is a good fighter, but we’ve seen in recent weeks what assumptions of victory have amounted to for Victor Ortiz and Amir Khan. The co-feature is interesting. Porter (19-0, 14 KO) is one of those in-between prospects, not a blue chipper but certainly not bad, and Gomez (23-5-2, 12 KO) is the sort of guy he needs to beat if he’s going to make a move. It appears Porter will be campaigning at 154, despite his height disadvantages there at 5’7″, after attempts to bring him down to 147 or even 140. Televisa (Mexico), 10 p.m. EDT, Edgar Sosa vs Shigetaka Ikehara, Dante Jardon vs Miguel Roman, Julio Ceja vs Genaro Camargo. Sosa (45-7, 27 KO) defends his WBC silver title at 112 against Japan’s Ikehara (22-3-2, 18 KO), who lost his last fight in a very close decision to Takuya Kogawa. The standout fight here might be Jardon (20-2, 18 KO) and Roman (37-10, 28 KO) in an eight-round bout. Both are action guys and though Roman has lost two straight, Jardon is extremely vulnerable. Ceja (19-0, 18 KO) is a 19-year-old bantamweight prospect. Luis Ceja (22-1-3, 18 KO) is also in action on the card.
Azteca (Mexico), 10:30 p.m. EDT, Orlando Salido vs Moises Gutierrez, Luis Grajeda vs Hector Camacho Jr. This is a stay-busy fight for Salido (38-11-2, 26 KO), not dissimilar to what he did last year after beating Juan Manuel Lopez. But the good news is this is supposed to set up a fight with Mikey Garcia, who supposedly is taking a tune-up on this undercard. Camacho (54-4-1, 29 KO) is way worse than his record makes him appear, but Grajeda (12-1-1, 9 KO) hasn’t beaten anyone either.
Telefutura, 11 p.m. EDT, Ronny Rios vs David Rodela, Julio Diaz vs TBA. Rios (18-0, 8 KO) stays at about the same level he’s been against Rodela (16-6-3, 7 KO), once regarded as a tough gatekeeper but he’s been knocked out in both of his last two losses against Terence Crawford and Luis Ramos Jr.
