The Official Journal of the European Union published on September 13th, the Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 812/2012, by which the previous regulation has to adjust to regarding tariff quotas for fruit and vegetables. All the legislation regarding the agreement between the EU and Morocco has already been published, which allows its entry into force on the 1st of October.

The Implementing Regulations set out the new tariff quotas for fruit and vegetables originating from Morocco and the amendments to the existing tariff quotas, which were established in the new EU agreement with Morocco, signed by the Council and the North African country on December 13, 2010 and subsequently ratified by the European Parliament in February of this year.

FEPEX reiterated its strong opposition to this agreement because it directly harms the production and export of Spanish fruits and vegetables and to maintain employment that this sector generates in production areas.
