LACOSTE has been an official sponsor of the Trophée Hassan II for three years now and of the Lalla Meryem Cup for the last two. These events are the only two major tournaments on the men’s PGA European Tour and on the Ladies European to take place simultaneously in the same city during the same week, from March 22-25 in 2012.

This allows LACOSTE to see some of the Crocodile brand’s ambassadors in action in the same place, notably Grégory and Mélodie Bourdy, siblings reunited for this occasion.

After the Pro Am, on the 21st of March, LACOSTE will organise a Clinic hosted by Thomas Levet on the driving range at Golf de l’Océan in Agadir. The French champion will be in the company of the LACOSTE European Tour players, Grégory Bourdy and Christian Cevaer as well as the LET players, Sophie Giquel, Mélodie Bourdy and Caroline Afonso.

This exhibition will give children from the charity Birdies of Essaouira Association the chance to meet and learn from professional players, with a chipping contest to be held after the clinic.

The Birdies of Essaouira association supported by the René Lacoste Foundation will give almost 60 children aged from 6 to 14 years old, coming from 3 neighbouring villages in the Essaouira community, the opportunity to enjoy one hour of golf classes a week plus three hours per weekend at the Mogador hotel resort.

The golf school, which was opened at the end of 2011, has a team of professional teachers who impart essential values through the golf teaching, such as: self-control and self-challenging, tenacity, work, respect for others and the environment. The teaching and the discovery of this sport will represent future job opportunities in golf for caddies, teachers and in other golf related services. The best of the youngsters will perhaps become tomorrow’s Moroccan champions.

LACOSTE & Golf

LACOSTE is present in this historic sport throughout the year and most of the finest golf courses in the world. The golfing presence of the famous crocodile is now assured by champions from different nationalities such as Yani Tseng and Cristie Kerr (No. 1 & 4 World player), as well as Virginie Lagoutte-Clément and Miguel-Angel Jimenez, Anders Hansen and Raphael Jacquelin. These LACOSTE ambassadors personify the values of the Lacoste brand: integrity, performance and elegance, which are the foundation of the success of the brand since its creation.
