King Of Morocco In Paris To Discuss COP-Related, Libyan Issues

French President Francois Hollande and visiting King Mohammed VI of Morocco discussed Wednesday COP-related and Libyan issues in Paris during the King’s work visit to France, French presidential office, the Elysee said.

Hollande thanked King Mohammed VI for his personal engagement in the success of the COP21 held December last year in Paris, the Elysee said in a statement.

The two heads of state agreed to reinforce their coordination for the ratification, by all member states, of the Paris Agreement, and for the success of the upcoming COP22 to be held in Marrakech in November 2016.

According to the Elysee, the two leaders also discussed regional issues, including the Libyan crisis that poses challenges to regional security.

Hollande praised the essential role of Morocco to support the process initiated under the aegis of the United Nations that led to the agreement of Skhirat for the formation of a national unity government.

They also reaffirmed their determination to further intensify bilateral cooperation, the Elysee added.
