Rabat – London, Mar 27, 2012 (MAP) – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Karim Ghellab, met Tuesday at the headquarters of the Westminster Parliament in London, with the Speaker of the House of Lords (upper house of the British Parliament), Baroness Frances D’Souza .
The talks focused on ways to consolidate cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries and on the progress made by Morocco on the path of strengthening democratic practice.
This visit to London aims to strengthen relations between the two parliaments and to inquire about the British parliamentary experience, Ghellab told MAP news agency, highlighting Morocco’s interest to strengthen relations with the United Kingdom.
The long British parliamentary experience can help Morocco to find ways to consolidate parliamentary practice, he said.
Ghellab is also expected to meet with the Speaker of the House of Commons (lower house of British Parliament), John Bercow.
