Japan granted on Wednesday the first payment of a loan worth 132 million U.S. dollars to support large-scale agriculture plan in Morocco.
Office of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Morocco said in a statement that the first payment of more than 74.5 million dollars will go to support Morocco’s Green plan program.
The loan is aimed at contributing to reinforce competitiveness of Morocco’s agricultural sector for an inclusive and green economic growth through a more sustainable management of natural resources and also for an inclusive promotion of value chains in the field of agriculture.
The loan is part of the Accelerated Co-financing Facility for Africa, which provides joint project financing with JICA on concessional terms, it added.
