Hong Kong adjusts OTA for Japan (Fukushima Prefecture) and removes OTA for Morocco

Hong Kong (HKSAR) – The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today (July 27) adjusted the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Fukushima Prefecture in Japan from red to amber and removed the amber OTA for Morocco.

A Government spokesman said, “Residents intending to visit Fukushima Prefecture or thosewho are already there should exercise caution, attend to personal safety and monitor the situation and the announcements by the Japanese authorities. In particular, they should avoid all travel within 20 kilometres of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the evacuation areas identified by the Japanese authorities.”

Residents may obtain the latest OTA information from the Security Bureau’s OTA webpage: www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota .

Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852)1868.
