Manama – The trip that HM King Mohammed VI has made in the Gulf region reflects the interest of HM the King in developing the distinguished relations between Morocco and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the will to establish the appropriate framework for a developed and advanced partnership between Morocco and the GCC, the Council’s foreign ministers said.
A statement released at the end of a meeting, Wednesday in Manama, of the GCC Foreign Ministers and Morocco’s Foreign Minister Saad Dine el Otmani hailed the monarch’s tour in the region, adding that the visit was meant to further reinforce the development of and investment in Morocco, and to establish an advanced integration of solidarity between the two parties within the framework of a strategic partnership founded on common interests and goals.
The release noted that on the basis of consultations and ongoing coordination between Morocco and the GCC, the talks translated the convergence the viewpoints of the parties on various regional and international issues of common interest, especially the changes taking place in the Arab and Islamic world.
The meeting, which was attended by the Secretary General of the Council, was held in concert between the leaders of all parties with the aim of building a distinguished strategic partnership reflecting the bonds of brotherhood between the Council countries and Morocco, and the depth of the history, culture and common values that bind their peoples and define their identity in the past, present and future.
This meeting is also held as a reflection of the strong relationship between the leaders and peoples of these countries, their commitment to the principles of international security and peace and the will to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, and to explore new horizons for building cooperation relationships in line with the aspirations of development and in light of the changes and challenges at the international and regional levels.
The ministers reiterated support for all the international initiatives and efforts, especially those led by the United Nations, to establish peace and security and preserve the stability and sovereignty of countries, as well as the unity of their territories and protecting them from political, ethnic and tribal clashes, and social disintegration.
