Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI started, Tuesday, an official working visit to Saudi Arabia, a press release of the Ministry of Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery said.
The monarch is due to hold talks with the Saudi monarch, king Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud on means to further deepend the brotherly relations of trust and solidarity which link the two kingdoms, the ministry said.
Talks between the two monarchs will be centered on the implementation of a strategic partnership, set up in 2011 between the north African kingdom and the countries of the Gulf Council of Cooperation. This partnership covers a number of fields, especially through granting donations to Morocco’s development projects, in which the contribution of Saudi Arabia stands at USD1.25bn between 2012 and 2016.
The sovereigns will also share views on the issues concerning the Islamic Ummah and the developments in the Arab world, the press release added.
The visit is the first leg in a tour that will lead the monarch, who is leading a large delegation, to other GCC countries as well as Jordan.
