Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI received, on Thursday at the Royal Palace in Rabat, Amina Lamrini El Ouahabi and Jamal Eddine Naji, whom the Sovereign appointed President of Higher Council of Audiovisual Communication and Director General of the Audiovisual Communication, respectively.
On this occasion, HM the King praised the human qualities, professionalism, integrity, extensive know-how and impartiality of the President of Higher Council of Audiovisual Communication and the Director General of the Audiovisual Communication as well as their considerable contributions to the success of several national projects, the Royal Cabinet said in a statement.
During the audience, the newly appointed officials were sworn in before HM the King.
This appointment comes after this institution was promoted to a constitutional status with a view to reinforce its independence, neutrality and enable it to continue to discharge the mission assigned to it, which lies, inter alia, in respecting the plural expression of trends of though and opinions and guaranteeing the independence of media- whether public or private- and ensuring the regulation and modernization of the national audiovisual sector.
This would lead to consolidating the Moroccan democratic and development model and promoting the sector within the framework of freedom, openness and responsibility, while upholding the rule of law, professional ethics and the preservation of the nation’s immutable values.
