Las Palmas   –  The Canary Island’s Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Minister, Juan Ramon Hernandez, rejected, on Wednesday, the vote of the European Parliament (EP) against the extension of the fisheries agreement between Morocco and the European Union (EU).

The vote could have a negative impact on the Canary fleet operating in Moroccan waters, notably the decline in fishing activity and loss of jobs, Hernandez was quoted by “Europa Press” agency as saying.

He also noted that other sectors could also be affected by such move, including transport and services.
